What’s different between WatchTalk and WhatsWatch?
WatchTalk is the same app as WhatsWatch, but the name is changed to WatchTalk at the end of 2024 by the legal request.
Which OS is supported?
- iOS 15 or higher
- watchOS 8 or higher
2 types of connection modes
There are 2 types of modes. The first one is Pairing mode. The second one is Cloud mode. Features provided are same, but the way of connection is different.
Pairing mode
On the Pairing mode, you must have the WatchTalk app installed on both your iPhone and Apple Watch. This mode only works when your iPhone and Apple Watch are close together. Your messages and chats are stored on your iPhone and your Watch. This mode does not use a separate server.
Cloud mode
On the Cloud mode, which works Apple Watch standalone. You can still use WhatsApp on your wrist, even if you leave your iPhone at home and go out with only your Apple Watch. However, Apple Watch must be connected to the internet via Wi-Fi or cellular access. Your messages and chats are securely stored on WatchTalk servers and synced to Apple Watch. All network communications are encrypted. You can delete all data from the server by logging out. Cloud mode is provided on WatchTalk 2.0 or higher.
I’ve installed it on iOS but cannot install it on watchOS. Or vice versa.
Please check the following.
- Make sure that your iPhone and Apple Watch are paired.
- Make sure that your iPhone and Apple Watch are connected to the Internet.
- Make sure that your iPhone and Apple Watch are updated to the latest version of iOS and watchOS.
- Make sure that your iPhone and Apple Watch are not in Low Power Mode, Airplane Mode, Do Not Disturb Mode, nor Silent Mode.
Try installing the watchOS app manually.
- Open the Apple’s official “Watch” app on your iPhone.
- Tap the “My Watch” tab.
- Scroll down to the “Available Apps” section.
- Find the WatchTalk app and tap the Install button.

Or,
- Open WatchTalk (or WhatsWatch) on your Apple Watch.
- Open WhatsApp on your paired iPhone.
- In WhatsApp on your iPhone, go to
Settings
>Linked Devices
>Link a Device
. - Scan the QR Code on the WatchTalk (or WhatsWatch) app on your Apple Watch using the WhatsApp app on your iPhone.
It can take tens of seconds. Please keep the watch screen on during loading.
QR code does not appear
If your network is slow or unstable, please use a stable network. It works on LTE/5G, but using Wi-Fi is recommended on login process if possible. When your network is changed, please tap “Retry” button once. If it still cannot load the QR code, please terminate the iOS app once and retry it again.
My camera in WhatsApp iOS app cannot recognize the QR code on my watch
Recommend to scan the QR code in a bright room, and please check the status of lens, and keep some distance between your camera and your watch. Please see this video for an example.
